Diane Flood

Presentation topic: Transition from Middle School to High School to Beyond


Diane Flood is a Transition Liaison for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). She works in all 40 of the Middle Schools in MCPS.  She received her Master’s Degree in Special Education with a concentration in Transition and Severe Disabilities from the University of Maryland, College Park.  She has been working as a Transition Specialist for over 18 years and with individuals with disabilities for over 25 years. Prior to working for Montgomery County Public Schools, Ms. Flood was a Vocational Specialist for adults with disabilities and a Cognitive Specialists for Individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury. In her current position as Transition Liaison, she assists families in developing Transition plans for post-school employment, education, and participating in the community as well as providing guidance on how to begin planning.
