Presentation topics: Supporting Inclusion through Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Katie Siguenza is an Instructional Resource Teacher (IRT) at Margaret Brent Middle School in St. Mary's County, Maryland. Utilizing best practices, she designs professional development programs and state, county, and school level resources for diverse learners in the English and social studies classroom. She facilitates UDL implementation projects within St. Mary's County Public Schools and with in-service teachers at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
Katie received a BA in history from St. Mary's College of Maryland, a Masters in Teaching with certification in social studies and an endorsement in TESOL. Prior to her current position as an IRT, she served as an ESOL teacher in Montgomery County and a social studies teacher in St. Mary's County. She has also served as adjunct faculty at St. Mary's College of Maryland, covering topics of educational policy and UDL. She is currently completing her National Board Certification.
