Improving Inclusion for Students who Take Alternate Assessments: A Federal Technical Assistance Project in Maryland

Abstract

TIES is the National Technical Assistance Center on Inclusive Practices and Policies for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities. Maryland was selected in the summer of 2018 as TIES first intensive technical assistance state. This workshop will provide details about TIES technical assistance in Maryland, including the work being done in Montgomery County and Carroll County, which are the two intensive technical assistance districts. You will also learn how the strategies being developed will be scaled up across the state. In addition, you will learn about resources developed by TIES for families and educators, including tips to support inclusion.
